Ocean's Edge Cottage is located in a secluded spot on Achill Island, County Mayo, Ireland. Among your few neighbours at this most remote of Irish holiday cottages are these donkeys (pictured, above). Donkeys used to form an essential part of life on Achill Island, necessary for the removal of turf from the local bogs to each family's cottage. While turf is still cut on Achill Island and used for fuel, modern tractors are used for the job of transporting the turf.
